I began taking sewing lessons when I was in the fifth grade. My sister and I would walk to the Esmond Recreation Hall 2 days a week where two elderly women with an old black and gold Singer sewing machine would give lessons. We each paid .50 for a 2 hour lesson. I remember my first project was a simple shirt apron. We took these lessons for the next 3 years. By the time I got to high school, I had made several outfits on my own.  My Home Economics teacher was so impressed by my sewing skills, she put me in charge of helping other students. Sewing has always been a big part of my life, leading me to make prom dresses, wedding dresses, a three piece suit and many special occasion dresses for my nieces over the years.

Joanie B Creations was created after my husband suggested I should sell kids dresses rather than just give them away. I decided to focus on kid’s aprons that we could embroider. From there I added so many more products for kids and babies alike.

Each piece is created with special care and thought into coordinating colors that make the outfit truly special, often one of a kind. My goal is to create quality pieces that are beautiful, unique and well made. I hope the piece you buy today makes that special child happy. Thank you, Joanie B
